Regarding the Axie Infinity Hack, it’s astonishing to me not only that 625 million dollars were stolen, not only that Axie Ininity’s security was lax enough to for such an enormous breach to occur, but that it took them more than a week to realize someone had pulled more than half a billion dollars out of their pocket. I feel like I reference The Cuckoo’s Egg a lot, but they noticed a security breach from losing just a couple cents. How do you not realize someone pulled a bank’s worth of money out of your bank account? It makes me wonder if there’s security out there not just for protecting your assets, but also for monitoring suspicious activity on your machines. In my experience, a security camera is just as good a deterrent as a locked door, if not better.
